Heroine was 17 and set up by her cousin who hacked her email. Why she was still protecting her cousins seven years later made no sense.
This felt a little. Plus she feels guilty about the innocent kiss and the email her cousin sent from her account that ruined his life. This scares him so he initiates divorce proceedings. Yeah — in the last chapter they clear the air and then they have one last black moment with the hasty divorce papers. View all 17 comments. I needed an escape into romance land, I wanted lots of HEAs,…yes…. I wanted gorgeous heroes and fabulous heroines …and who does that better than…. Greek shipping billionaire Alexandros Kouros and Kallie Demarchis had been friends until the night that he believed she had betrayed him, causing his world to implode.
Seven years later they meet unexpect I needed an escape into romance land, I wanted lots of HEAs,…yes…. Seven years later they meet unexpectedly in Paris. He has never forgiven her and sees an opportunity to take revenge on her. Why it took so long for her to tell him the truth of that horrible night is beyond me! Look, loyalty to family and friends is good…but not at the cost of your happiness and love!!!!! There were some times that I wanted to slap his head…. How much more revenge does he want……did he not see the real Kallie that he first met those years ago….
The settings are vividly described…so beautifully written…. View all 8 comments. Idk something was off here. The usual revenge drama with an enforced moc. Of course he only wanted revenge sex and the marriage was only for some will business.
Very timely and convenient! Not my idea of a good angst. I prefer them to either lash out some or remain stoic in the face of excessive ass-hattery. The H was as cold and unrelenting as the tundra. It can start that way but has to change at some point for me to accept it.
Grovel was barely passable. Epilogue was sweet though. Nov 27, KatieV rated it it was ok Shelves: hero-tycoon-greek , hero-protective , locale-greece , locale-france , heroine-falsely-accused , blackmail , hqn-presents , marriage-of-convenience , hero-not-only-lover.
This revenge HP didn't really do it for me. Honestly, it just wasn't crazy enough. For one thing, the hero actually had reason for being angry with the heroine. She was innocent, of course, but there was some damning evidence against her.
And she, out of loyalty to her shrewish cousin, didn't tell him the full truth. That kind of took away that self-righteous sense of pleasure I get when the H finds out how wrooooong he was.
For whatever bizarre This revenge HP didn't really do it for me. This guy was a Greek tycoon, but he wasn't too OTT. Not by HP standards. Here's my take, with spoilers. Alexandros, the son of another shipping magnate, somehow became close with Kallie's family and felt closer to them than his own family. None of this was overly fleshed out. So, Alexandros spent a lot of time with Kallie's family. Kallie was a teenager and he was in his 20s.
She was in love with him and he saw her as a little sister and friend. How he'd prefer not to take over the shipping business, but would rather go to art school. Alexandros' father dies and he has to go to Athens to take over the business.
Kallie doesn't see him again until she's 17 and in Greece for a fancy party. Her manipulative cousin encourages her to go and tell him how much she loves him.
Actually, the cousin was angry with Alexandros because he'd rejected her advances and she knew somehow? She was also jealous of Kallie because Alexandros paid more attention to her. Cue plying naive, innocent Kallie with wine and pushing her to make her move. Kallie gets drunk and catches Alexandros alone and makes a clumsy move on him. He's shocked since he saw her as a chubby teen whom he'd last seen when she was He's angry because this is his engagement party and her cousin has already thrown herself at him and tried to convince him that she could replace his shipping heiress.
The real kicker is that the cousin was apparently hiding in the bushes and takes a cellphone pic of the attempted seduction. She then hacks into Kallie's email account and sends the pic to the press along with disclosures re: his lack of interest in the shipping business, facts she'd learned from Kallie.
This pisses off the bride's family who call off the marriage. It also pisses off Kallie's family because they think Alexandros is a perv. They kick him out and tell him to never come back and won't listen to Kallie's explanation that it was her fault, etc.
Guess they weren't the forgiving sort.
