The love story between the two main characters just tags along with the story and you know what? For me it works. At first I wasn't sure this time who may be the antagonist of the story but like I said Laurie manages to surprises and the good thing is that when you finally realize who is the person it totally makes sense but once again you wonder, Who she did it?
The plot of the story is well written she doesn't give too much away there were scenes that got me at the edge of my sit wondering what would happen next. Also once again she puts the entries of a diary but this times is of someone who is so close to Camelia and it clearly explains exactly what's Camelia is passing through since she's now acquiring the psychometric abilities. I do have to complain about something, I got VERY frustrated with Ben even though I was happy to learn more about his past his indecision got to my nerves I did understand his reason to stay away from Camelia but there's a moment you gotta make up your mind and fight for what your heart wants and his indecision in someway or another makes a big hole between both of them and when that happens Adam comes in, a good guy that seems more than willing to be right choice for Camelia.
But the question is Adam who he seems to be? Or will Camelia fight for to save what's left of her relationship with Ben? Even when her life may be in danger? I cannot spill more juicy details because I don't want to spoil you bu if you haven't read the books I encourage to do so. One person found this helpful. I loved Deadly Little Secret. It was totally creepy and suspenseful and awesome.
I normally don't like to read books in a series one right after another. I like anticipation. But for the Touch series, I had to for several reasons. The first being that I mistakenly signed up for a book tour for Deadly Little Games thinking it was the second book whoops , and the second reason is because I'm really in the mood for creepy books and this series totally fits the bill. I definitely liked Deadly Little Secret better.
Deadly Little Lies was very creepy and I totally had no idea what was coming. But at the same time, it totally frustrated me because all this stuff already happened in the first book and I just couldn't believe Camelia was making the same freaking mistakes all over again. But if she hadn't made the mistakes, there would be no story. So it was frustrating, but good frustrating, I suppose. I don't even know what to say about this book.
Camelia as a person is just the same as she was in the first book. She's interesting, but super naive. I really liked the powers she developed and I enjoyed reading as she discovered more about them.
I liked Adam a lot and thought he was an interesting character. Ben drove me crazy, as usual. Like the first one, there were a lot of unexpected twists. Well, I wasn't expecting them anyway.
I stayed up reading this book all in one night because I just had to find out what happened. While not as good as the first book, it still remains true to it. It's creepy and awesome and frustrating all at the same time. Anyway, I did really enjoy reading Deadly Little Lies.
It was a good conclusion, and a good set up for the next book in the series. If you read Deadly Little Secret and enjoyed it, you should pick this one up! Book 2 of the series. Suspense, romance, good mystery. Ben's psychometry storyline is interesting and his sweet love for Camelia is endearing. Anxiously looking forward to Ben and Camelia enjoying a more permanent relationship, hope the author doesn't keep us waiting too long.
I believe there are 5 books in this series so I suppose anything can happen. Camelia again is involved in another dangerous situation or two. Author does a great job of giving this series some eery suspenseful scenes. These books won't leave the main mystery hanging until the next book but seems to tie things up quickly and neatly near the end, although there is always something to look forward to in the next book.
The parents in this series are surprisingly clueless as far as their daughter is concerned but Camelia doesn't always help this situation out. Believe the next book may shed some light on Camilla's suspected abilities, hopefully with Ben's help.
There is definitely something to look forward to in book 3 which I hear will be out in December. I absolutely loved the first book and was very excited to continue the series. Reading these books started my love for reading. This is a great series for someone that is interested in mystery and romance. The great things about these books is that as you read it you are trying to figure out the mystery all the way through and you don't find out who did it until the very end.
I love that she brought in another guy for Camelia to fall for. He was so sweet to her from the beginning but the guys she falls for always end up with a secret.
